NSW govt backs away from 30 per cent SME tech spend target

The Minns government looks set to scrap its predecessor’s ambitious target to source almost a third of the state’s technology buys from smaller businesses, after not publishing the latest data for several months.

NSW ICT sourcing head Mark Lenzner this week revealed the latest data showing progress against a 30 per cent SME tech spend target had not been published “as we are now focused more on the broader priorities of the current government”.

InnovationAus.com understands discussions are still ongoing about continuing the goal but the new government is not yet backing it.
