PC begins deep dive into data, digital and net-zero policy

The Productivity Commission has called for policy ideas to boost productivity through data and digital technologies – as well as by investing in the net-zero transformation – to inform a set of interim reports to be handed down in mid-2025.

The federal economic think-tank will deliver policy recommendations across five themes in an interim report by next July, before its final reports land by the end of the year. Each inquiry is led by two commissioners.

This is the first step in delivering a new productivity policy agenda after the initiative was announced by Treasurer Jim Chalmers last month alongside a new $900 million National Productivity Fund.
