A Senate committee has given the green light to the federal government’s plan to direct billions of dollars in tax credits towards the production of green hydrogen and critical minerals.
The centrepiece of the Future Made in Australia plan was cleared by the Labor-led Economics Legislation Committee on Friday, paving the way for the bill’s passage through the Senate as soon as next week.
The Australian Greens have signaled it will support the bill, while the Coalition continues to push back against tax credits it has previously labeled as “billions in handouts to billionaires”.
