Tax Office inks three-year, $2m Uber contract for ride services

The Australian tax office has locked itself into a deal with Uber for three years in a contract for ride services worth an estimated $2 million.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) signed a three year contract with Uber in May, running until May 2028, with an option to extend this until 2030, after a limited tender process open only to Uber.

The contract is worth more, far longer and differs from the way other government departments and agencies use Uber, with most opting for one-month or six-month deals.
