The Bureau of Meteorology has inked a $7.4 million cloud service deal with AWS, kicking off the US hyperscaler’s new whole of government arrangement as a review of volume sourcing continues.

The BoM’s contract was the first to be disclosed under AWS’s third whole of government arrangement, which the Digital Transformation Agency finalised at an undisclosed value in February.

The public cloud market leader’s first two mega deals helped net AWS more than $560 million since 2019 by making its offerings easier to procure for government agencies.
