‘Tell us once’ lurches back to life after a decade


It’s not often a ‘tell us once’ digital strategy rates a mention by a federal Treasurer, let alone in the wake of a much-hyped economic roundtable aimed at fixing Australia’s productivity problem.

But in his wrap-up at the end of the three-day summit, Jim Chalmers named the thorny – and very much elusive – utopian digital dream that has evaded successive governments for more than a decade, on a list of so-called ‘potential quick wins’.

Finance and Government Services minister Katy Gallagher has been tasked with accelerating the work by introducing a regulatory reform bill to Parliament by the end of “this year”.
