Melbourne-based Innofocus has clinched the Translation Hero Award at the 2025 InnovationAus Awards black-tie gala dinner on Thursday night for its cutting-edge laser nanoprinting technology.

Proudly sponsored by the CSIRO ON Innovation Program, the Translation Hero category recognises the most successful commercialisation of deep-tech research in Australia each year.

Innofocus secured the win in a highly competitive field featuring Liquid Instruments, mDetect and Swinburne University, and Rux Energy – all leaders translating frontier science into real-world products.

Innofocus impressed judges with its world-first intelligent laser nano-printing platform, capable of fabricating photonic devices and nano-structured materials at a precision up to 1,000 times greater than commercial 3D printing.

Built across its 1,000 square metre facility on the outskirts of the Melbourne CBD, the system enables industries ranging from quantum computing to MedTech to design and manufacture high-performance components previously impossible to create at scale.

Innofocus was recognised for transforming nanofabrication access; rather than requiring multimillion-dollar cleanrooms, the company’s AI-driven systems operate in standard lab environments – lowering barriers, accelerating prototyping and unlocking industrial capabilities for Australian innovators.

The 2025 InnovationAus Awards for Excellence are proudly supported by ACS, PEXA Group, the CSIRO ON Program, Griffith Hack, TechnologyOne, Q-CTRL, National AI Centre, University of New South Wales, KPMG, AgriFutures Australia, Investment NSW and IP Australia.
