Outdated and “clunky” technology is holding back public servants at the heart of government, an independent review of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet has found.
The capability review also reveals an “unsustainably high” spending on ICT contractors, which continue to make up more than half of the department’s technology division despite a government-wide edict to reduce reliance on external labour.
