High-risk AI projects in New South Wales will be automatically flagged for external review under a redesigned AI Assessment Framework, replacing an existing process that leaves room for guesswork.
The first update to the framework in 18 months, which brings the state into line with national and international standards, will also cut assessment times from days to less than 30 minutes, enabling low-risk systems to be fast-tracked.
