A parliamentary inquiry into data centres has been launched in Tasmania in response to growing community concern about their impact on the Apple Isle’s energy and water usage.

The broad-reaching Inquiry into AI Data Centres in Tasmania will examine legislation to regulate the booming sector, which has come under increasing local scrutiny as its development pipeline scales.
