Gifts from tech giants to public officials will be cross checked and publicly reported from next year in an integrity clampdown prompted by a series of procurement scandals.
Amid concerns about the “cultivation” of officials, the Digital Transformation Agency will in April start asking suppliers on its panels or with whole-of-government arrangements to provide a list of their offered and accepted gifts.
The DTA will check the quarterly disclosures from companies like Microsoft, IBM, SAP and Amazon Web Services against official records and report back to the Parliament and provide a public summary in 2026.
