Govt left waiting for PsiQuantum planning application

A stadium-sized complex that will house PsiQuantum’s first commercially useful quantum computer is facing a potential setback, with the Silicon Valley startup and Brisbane Airport yet to lodge development plans.

PsiQuantum is targeting the end of 2027 for the huge manufacturing and production facility to be up and running on a site adjacent to Brisbane Airport – the same year it hopes to have its first error-corrected quantum computer humming.

The aggressive plan” was announced in April 2024, when the federal and Queensland governments jointly invested close to $1 billion in the company to build its error-corrected quantum computer in Australia.
