Queensland has become the latest state to pursue laws targeting ‘deepfake’ abuse, with the state’s government announcing it will criminalise the creation of non-consensual digital imagery.
The Crisafulli government on Sunday said it would shut “legal loopholes” allowing sexually explicit or harmful images and videos to be created using artificial intelligence or so-called nudify apps.
