Tech giants and the Big Four consulting firms donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Australia’s major political parties last year, new data from the electoral commission shows.
Annual donations data for 2023-24 was released on Monday, revealing the top political donors as the federal government looks to secure passage of electoral reforms that will bring about real-time disclosure.
At almost $640,000, the value of donations from the tech and consulting sectors have more than halved since last year and the 2021-22 election year, with PwC noticeably absent from this year’s list.
