Wells says triple zero upgrades a success despite dropped calls

Communications minister Anika Wells has defended the performance of Australia’s triple zero network during Wednesday’s Telstra outage after around three dozen calls to the service were dropped on their first dial.

Ms Wells said upgrades to triple zero infrastructure and regulation changes over the past two years had worked effectively during the outage, with the network processing “the overwhelming majority” of calls.
