A federal government decision to withhold the cost of its latest three-year cloud mega-deal with Amazon Web Services has sparked transparency concerns and criticism that it has been strong-armed by Big Tech.

The standing offer arrangement gives federal, state and, for the first time, local governments access to more than 240 AWS cloud services using a simplified contracting model.
