The conduct of officials at the National Disability Insurance Agency has been referred to law enforcement agencies and regulators after a series of probes revealed secret meetings with ministers and gifts from suppliers vying for government tech contracts.
In an escalation of the tech procurement scandal that rocked Parliament in 2023 and 2024, the agency on Christmas eve quietly disclosed that it had referred “certain related gifts, benefits and hospitality matters” to authorities.
This followed the NDIA’s own inquiries, an independent investigation it commissioned, and multiple outside reviews of procurements at the NDIA and Services Australia.
